Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions for cleaning or replacing accessible filters. If airflow stays weak after routine filter care, the indoor coil, blower, or other internal parts may need professional attention.
Watch the condensate drainage
Water dripping from the indoor unit, staining, or unusual moisture can indicate a drainage problem. A blocked or poorly draining condensate line should be evaluated before it causes water damage.
Keep the outdoor unit clear
Leaves, wind-blown debris, and obstructions around the outdoor unit can interfere with airflow. Keep the area around the unit clear without bending fins, opening panels, or spraying electrical components.
Know the limits of DIY maintenance
Basic filter care and keeping the area clear are homeowner tasks. Refrigerant, internal electrical work, deep disassembly, and repairs should be handled by a qualified professional appropriate to the equipment.
